An update to AI podcasting Last month I wrote all about AI and podcasting including this prognostication Voice cloning is getting better and better and I think in the not-too-distant future podcasters will be able to create their own voice clone and have it read a script, completely removing the need to sit in front of a microphone and record. Imagine that, a podcast without the need for any recording. Well clearly I wasn't being optimistic enough because Perplexity have recently started their own podcast that is created end-to-end by AI π€― It's called Discover Daily and is a short tech news roundup. The 'hosts' are entirely synthetic and the script comes from Perplexity's own search results. Clearly my hunch was right but my time horizons were way off!
